USA AZ Phoenix Veronica   Leafleting / Literature Distribution, Protest
Date/Time: October 3, 12pm-1pm
Location: McDonald's:
1205 S. Rural Rd. Tempe AZ 85281
Features: Please
join Animal Advocates of Arizona for World Farm Animals
Day!
This demonstration is for anyone who
wishes to peacefully and lawfully express to McDonald's
that we will not tolerate their horrible abuses
of chickens in their factory farms. In the year 2000,
following the launch of PETA's original McCruelty
campaign, McDonald's made some basic animal welfare
improvements. Since that time, the company has refused
to eliminate the worst abuses that its chickens
suffer in the United States, including abuses during
slaughter. This cruelty would be illegal if dogs or
catsùor even pigs or cowsùwere the victims. McDonald's
is the largest seller of chicken meat in the United
States, surpassing even Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The campaign against KFC is still on-going and there
are talks occurring behind-the-scenes, but we are
asked to now more actively campaign to urge McDonald's
to make meaningful humane policy changes. As the
largest seller of chicken meat, McDonald's has the power
to demand that its U.S. suppliers use a less cruel
method of slaughter.
LEAFLETING DEMONSTRATION
AT: McDonald's, 1205 S. Rural Rd. Tempe, AZ 85281

-located on the east side of Rural between Apache
and University
WHEN:
Saturday, October
3rd
12:00pm û 1:00pm
All signs and literature
will be provided.
SAD BACKGROUND:
In the
slaughterhouses of McDonald's U.S. chicken suppliers,
birds are dumped out of their transport crates
and hung upside-down in metal shackles, which can result
in broken bones, extreme bruising and hemorrhaging.
Workers have the opportunity to abuse live birds,
and birds have their throats cut while they are still
conscious. Many birds are immersed in tanks of
scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able
to feel pain.
Please visit http://www.McCruelty.com
to learn more and to see the undercover investigations
at McDonaldÆs supplier slaughterhouses.
